Raiders: 3 Keys to victory against the Denver Broncos in Week 16
By Alex Perl
The Las Vegas Raiders may have salvaged their season on Monday with the victory over the heavily depleted Cleveland Browns.
Currently sitting at 7-7 and back to .500, the Raiders are now third in the AFC West as they welcome the team they are above in the standings this week in the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have been a mixed batch, much like the Raiders this season — and with the same record and not out of the playoff hunt just yet either, they will look to bring a huge fight into Las Vegas this Sunday.
I will observe three keys to victory for the Raiders this weekend if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Stop the Run
The Broncos’ offense is definitely not a strong point for this team. And now with starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater likely missing this contest, the offense seems to slow down even a bit more. However, Teddy has not been the answer to an offense that has been stagnant for years. The one key component that has consistently worked is the run game for this team.
Ranked in the top-10 in rushing yards in the NFL, the combination of veteran running backs Melvin Gordon and rookie Javonte Williams have been the key to this team garnering seven victories. The pair are both in position to rush for 1,000 yards, and with backup quarterback Drew Lock likely taking the reins this week at quarterback, the rushing attack will once again spearhead this offense.
For the Raiders to have a chance in this one, everyone will have to do their part on the defense. The defensive line will need help from the linebacking unit and secondary in stopping this dangerous rushing duo. How the Raiders can respond against this one-two combo will be key in either a Raider victory or loss.
