Las Vegas Raiders: 2021 Week 16 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em or Sit ‘Em

Sit ‘Em

Josh Jacobs

The Raiders rushing attack has been weak this season — and that may be giving too much credit.

Last season’s Pro Bowl running back in Josh Jacobs has been nowhere to be seen this season. The back was expected to have a significantly better season as he overcame what was seen as a sophomore slump compared to his sterling rookie season.

What the Raiders have gotten this season is a banged-up Jacobs and an underwhelming offensive line. The latter might be more involved in the downfall of Jacobs than his actual talent, but nonetheless, both parties have played a large role in the Raiders having the fourth-worst rushing attack in all of football.

Although Jacobs is virtually alone in the backfield with backup Kenyan Drake shelved for the season, he still has not produced. If you can sit Jacobs this week, you should. The Raiders will surely rely on the pass here on out to clinch a playoff berth.

DeSean Jackson

If you watch the Raider games, you would be hard-pressed to see the veteran receiver involved at all in this offense. Signed to replace the speed of Henry Ruggs, Jackson has been nothing more than a decoy in this offense, and the most consistent deep threat for this team has now become Zay Jones.

Jackson is always a threat to make a big play and add some much-needed fantasy points to your tally, but with the way his snap count continues to decrease and the emergence of younger receivers, it may be time to sit the veteran receiver for the foreseeable future.
