A Functioning Offensive Line

It wasn’t that long ago that the Raiders had one of the best offensive lines in the entire league, but it seems like a lifetime ago when you watch them now.

PFF ranks them 26th in the league, which seems generous on certain Sundays. The attempts by Jon Gruden to make do with guys like Andre James at center has backfired big time, and rookie Alex Leatherwood has had a disastrous start to his career. Then combine it with Brandon Parker, who is simply not an NFL starter, and you have what we see every weekend.

Whoever is at quarterback in 2022 and beyond will not compete consistently behind this offensive line, so the Raiders have to find ways to improve.

Whether the draft, free agency, or both, they have to get some new players in the tranches. Leatherwood is a rookie, so you’re hoping he will improve much like Kolton Miller, but there are three positions along the offensive line that could use upgrades right now.
