Las Vegas Raiders vs Denver Broncos: Instant reactions from Week 16

This is the run game the Raiders need

There was a lot of talk heading into the Cleveland Browns game that the Raiders needed to run the ball and that Josh Jacobs was going to be the key for them. Unfortunately, as has been the case all season long, Jacobs was wildly ineffective and finished that contest with only 52 yards on 15 carries.

That was not the case in this matchup, as the Raiders made a point after the half to run the football, and we saw a version of Jacobs we have not seen in some time. After not rushing for 100 yards at any point this season, Jacobs ran wild against the Broncos, rushing for 129 on 27 carries, good for nearly five yards per carry.

While Jacobs was the star in this game, outside of a fumble early on, the Raiders also got solid play from Peyton Barber and Jalen Richard behind him. If the Raiders are to make noise the rest of the way, especially against the two playoff contenders left on their schedule, they need to see the run game, and just as importantly, the offensive line, perform the way they did against Denver.
