Las Vegas Raiders at Indianapolis Colts: 3 Raiders to watch in Week 17

Josh Jacobs

Sorry to disappoint you Raiders fans, but Sunday’s game is exactly the type of game that the coaching staff wants to play, even without Jon Gruden on the sidelines. They do not want Derek Carr dropping back and throwing the ball 30-40 times, they want to run the ball, and control time of possession.

In the second half of the game against Denver, despite falling behind at halftime, the Raiders ran the rock over and over again, and Josh Jacobs rewarded them with a rookie year type of performance. That is exactly the type of game that can beat the Colts, by keeping Johnathan Taylor on the sideline and controlling the time of possession.

If the Raiders can once again establish the run game on Sunday, that would only go on to help the passing game even more due to there being an actual threat in the ground. Last week, Jacobs showed a burst that we had not seen in years, and that can be a game-changer for this Raiders offense moving forward.

I predict Jacobs is going to once again be the most important part of this offense on Sunday and will be the determining factor if the Raiders win or lose this game.
