Raiders: 4 reasonable expectations against the Colts in Week 17

The Colts pass game will be effective

This seems hard to believe, especially looking at the narrative surrounding this Colts team this season. They live and die by the run. Starting quarterback Carson Wentz has been merely a decoy in this offense.

The quarterback has only thrown for 300 yards or more twice this season. However, he has been solid for the most part in key contests as the offense is tailored to the ability of its star back in Taylor.

Although Wentz has taken a back seat to his running back, he still has some solid receiving options, led by receiver Michael Pittman.

The major reason why I am calling a passing game that will be effective in this contest is not really the ability of Wentz — but more or less facing against a Raiders secondary that has been decimated in recent weeks due to injuries and COVID-19 protocols.

The Raiders secondary is a mess at this point, and with so many injuries and players out or missing time due to COVID-19, what is left of this secondary is in shambles, and the Colts will look to expose it early and often.

Wentz may not go for over 300 yards or anything to this estimation, but over 200 yards passing and a couple of passing touchdowns is not out of the question against a depleted Raider secondary.
