The Raiders can punch their ticket to the AFC Playoffs in Week 18, and here are the early odds and prediction for their matchup against the Chargers.

Against all odds, the Las Vegas Raiders are one game away from the AFC Playoffs, but will have to beat a division rival in the Los Angeles Chargers to get there. The Raiders can lose to the Chargers on Sunday if the Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Indianapolis Colts earlier in the day, but that seems very unlikely, making beating the Chargers the only likely scenario in which the Silver and Black get in.

For the Raiders, this would be an incredible accomplishment, as they have been through so much this season on, and off the field. To get here, they had to win three straight games, all against teams vying for the playoffs, and two of them on the road against the Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns.

After beating the Colts on Sunday, they head home to Allegiant Stadium, looking to defeat an AFC West rival for the second time in three games. However, unlike the Denver Broncos in Week 16, the Chargers have their ace throwing in this one, and you can expect Justin Herbert to be on his game with the season on the line.

On Sunday night, it was announced that this game will be the final game of the regular season slate for the NFL, as it was flexed to Sunday night at 5:20 PM PT.

The Raiders and Chargers are a long-time rivalry, and it is anybody’s guess as to who will come out on top in this one. However, I actually like the Raiders to come through at home, capping an incredible regular season that saw them get out to a 5-2 start, fall to 6-7, and then rally late to clinch a playoff berth.

For Derek Carr, it will be his first time clinching a playoff spot, and actually getting to play in the game, and it could not come at a better time for him. The narrative surrounding him is that he cannot win on a regular basis, but he has put this team on his back the last three weeks, and I believe he gets the job done at home, clinching at least the No. 7 seed in the conference.
