In another terrible off-the-field decision by a young Raiders star, rookie cornerback Nate Hobbs was arrested for DUI early Monday morning in Las Vegas.
For the Las Vegas Raiders, the horrible off-the-field decisions have continued, this time involving a star rookie cornerback. Nate Hobbs, a fifth-round pick of the team who has put together a stellar rookie season, was found asleep at the wheel at an exit ramp of The Cromwell Hotel, according to a tweet put out by TMZ Sports.
Hobbs, who has been the team’s starting slot cornerback as a rookie, was fresh off another solid effort in the biggest win of the season for Las Vegas. Playing against the Indianapolis Colts on the road, Hobbs was a key for a secondary that shut down the Colts passing game, keeping the Raiders playoff hopes alive.
Now, the future for Hobbs in Las Vegas is unclear, as the franchise is just not going to put up with these kinds of decisions, especially after the incident involving Henry Ruggs III a few weeks back.
Raiders to play for a shot at the playoffs in Week 18
The decision by Hobbs could not come at a worse time for the Silver and Black, who have a ‘win-and-in’ game against division rival Los Angeles on Sunday night. Hobbs has been a big reason why the Raiders defense has improved this season, and likely not having him against Justin Herbert and this Chargers passing attack puts the Raiders at a significant disadvantage.
Raiders Game Sunday: Raiders vs Los Angeles Chargers odds and prediction for NFL Week 18 game
The Raiders can punch their ticket to the AFC Playoffs in Week 18, and here are the early odds and prediction for their matchup against the Chargers.
At this point, you have to wonder about the leadership on this roster, as these stories are becoming far too familiar. After seeing a teammate ruin his life by driving drunk during the bye week, you would think this team would utilize the services allotted to them by the league, and never get behind the wheel when they have had an alcoholic beverage.
This latest incident is just another in what has been a very disappointing season for the Silver and Black off the field.
