Raiders: 3 Keys to victory against the Chargers in Week 18

Pounding the ball inside

Running back Josh Jacobs did not have his best game against the Colts on Sunday. His 3.9 yards per carry was not impressive as he ran to a solid but unspectacular 63 yards rushing.

After finally reaching the 100-yard rushing plateau for the first time this season last week against the Denver Broncos — Jacobs returned to mediocrity against the Colts, and although he was able to muster out a touchdown and 80 total yards, the onus will be on Jacobs more heavily this week to replicate his performance from the Denver matchup.

The passing game of the Raiders from afar and statistic rate has looked incredible, but this is based largely on the fact of the first half play of Carr, with his second-half numbers being on the complete opposite side of the spectrum.

A potent rushing attack will be needed for the Silver and Black in this contest, and unless Jacobs can get it going again on the ground, it will be a harrowing experience for this passing attack to try and keep up with the Charger offense through the air alone.
