2022 NFL 7-Round Mock Draft: Las Vegas Raiders fix offensive voids early
Heading into the 2021 NFL season, the Raiders knew they need to do something to revamp their defensive line. They made an incredible move by bringing in Yannick Ngakoue, who has double-digit sacks this season, but they also inked both Quinton Jefferson and Solomon Thomas, two guys who have enjoyed tremendous 2021 seasons as well.
Looking ahead, there is solid depth along the defensive line, but there are also big question marks, as Jefferson, Johnathan Hankins, and Darius Philon, another solid addition, will head to free agency. That could make the defensive tackle position a position of need in the 2022 NFL Draft, and the Raiders get a good one here in Tyler Davis from Clemson.
Davis is a guy who was nicknamed “Baby Dex” at Clemson after former Tigers stay Dexter Lawrence, and he is extremely explosive off the line. Standing 6-foot-2, and weighing 200 pounds, Davis could be an absolute menace on the interior of this defensive line, clearing the way for Ngakoue and Maxx Crosby to dominate off the edge.
