2022 NFL 7-Round Mock Draft: Las Vegas Raiders fix offensive voids early
The Cincinnati Bearcats had a tremendous 2021 college football season, playing their way to an undefeated year, and punching their ticket to the College Football Playoff. A lot of their success had to do with their defense, especially in the secondary, where Ahmad Gardner and Coby Bryant were one of the better cornerback duos in the country.
Bryant was one of the best defensive backs in all of America, winning the Jim Thorpe Award, and significantly improving his draft status. Based on his talent, he could be way gone by Day 3 of the 2022 NFL Draft, but if he is still available, he is the kind of player who can help the Raiders in Year 1, and play significant minutes.
In the Bearcats College Football Playoff game, Bryant actually switched his number to No. 8 to honor the late, great Kobe Bryant. This is a kid who can come in and provide solid depth on the outside, and in the slot, and maybe, Mayock finds another stud cornerback on Day 3.
