Las Vegas Raiders vs LA Chargers 2021 Week 18: Studs and Duds

Studs – Daniel Carlson

What more can we say about Daniel Carlson and how good this guy has been this year for the Raiders? Carlson was perfect on extra points and hit 5 field goals, including two huge kicks in overtime to give the Raiders the lead and then to win the game.

The veteran kicker had a couple chip shots but hit a 52-yarder in the fourth quarter to put the Raiders up 15 in what we thought might have been an insurmountable lead. After the defense gave up two touchdowns and a 2-point conversion, the Raiders got the ball first in overtime and he delivered a 40-yarder to give them the lead.

After holding LA to a field goal, the Raiders drove down the field thanks to a combination of Josh Jacobs and Derek Carr and nearly let time expire to end the game in a tie. Instead, Rich Bisaccia trusted his superstar kicker to win the game and marched him out for a 47 yarder to win the game.

Carlson of course nailed the kick to send the Raiders to Cincinnati and send the Chargers off to Cancun for the offseason. He has been an incredible weapon all season long and will be vital in some potentially tough conditions during wild card weekend.
