Raiders vs Chargers: Offensive Grades for 2021 Week 18
Tight Ends
The Raiders star offensive receiving option in Darren Waller returned against the Chargers after missing the previous 6 contests. You could tell he needed to get some rust off of him with a statistically unproductive performance uncharacteristic of one of the best tight ends in football.
Waller finished with only 2 receptions for 22 yards and zero touchdowns, but it was evident that the Charger’s defense was keying in on him, which opened up things for others in the offense.
There were also two occasions in which Waller was wide open but missed by Carr. One of these would have been a sure-fire game-winner in overtime. The other would have at the very least been a huge gain late in the third quarter.
Foster Moreau also hauled in a couple of passes but for 50 yards. Of those 50 yards, 44 came on a single play in the first drive of the game which put the Raiders into the RedZone early. He did fumble on that play, however, but the ball went out of bounds and the Raiders maintained possession.
