Las Vegas Raiders Wild Card vs Bengals: A few bold predictions

Solomon Thomas will get over 1.5 sacks

Thomas signed with the Raiders this past offseason after failing to live up to expectations with the San Francisco 49ers. As far as Las Vegas is concerned, he’s lived up to his end of the deal. In Bradley’s defense, Thomas totaled 3.5 sacks, three tackles for a loss, and two forced fumbles, flourishing as a Raider. Thomas played 40 defensive snaps against the Bengals in November, recording one sack, two solo tackles, and one tackle for a loss.

Given the health of the Raiders’ interior defensive line, we should expect similar, if not more, snaps for Thomas. The Bengals’ defense will have to account for Yannick Ngakoue and Maxx Crosby on every play. This could lead to a big day for Thomas. Las Vegas’s run defense might take a hit with injuries to Darius Philon and Johnathan Hankins’ health, but the pass rush will be fine. Thomas will be an unsung hero in this one. Look for him to notch over 1.5 sacks from the defensive tackle spot.
