The Las Vegas Raiders are in good shape, and a return to the playoffs is definitely realistic looking ahead to next season.

Raider Nation is likely licking their wounds after dealing with one of the most stress-inducing Las Vegas Raiders seasons in football history. While it was certainly devastating to see their Raiders be eliminated from the playoffs, they can take solace in knowing the team will be fine. To be clearer, by “fine,” I mean that they should be able to return to the postseason by this time next year.

Does that seem farfetched to you naysayers? Well, it shouldn’t. We all know that owner Mark Davis needs to decide on who will be running his front office. After that task is completed, the Raiders will still need a head coach. It’s a strange predicament to be in as an owner, actually, if you think about it. The Raiders just made the playoffs after Jon Gruden’s scandal and resignation. That was followed by Henry Ruggs III’s tragedy, and that was exacerbated by so many injuries.

Through it all, under the guise of interim head coach Rich Bisaccia, Las Vegas triumphed. Be that as it may, in spite of winning out, the organization may soon go through an entire housecleaning at the top.

Normally, when a team makes the playoffs, it’s an indicator that things are stable, but for the Raiders, that’s not the case. Gruden’s resignation left a huge hole that needs long-term addressing, though we should acknowledge the admirable job that Bisaccia did this season. General manager Mike Mayock might end up being a victim of circumstance given his association with Gruden. His drafting alone is highly suspect given the misses in the first round since his arrival. Despite the rumblings at the top, the team on the field has a lot going for it, which is why the 2023 playoffs should be within reach.
