5 Raiders who most likely will not be back in Las Vegas in 2022
Peyton Barber, RB
For a while during the 2021 NFL season, the only running back to post a 100-yard game was veteran Peyton Barber. Barber would prove to be a big pickup for Las Vegas this season, especially when Kenyan Drake went down due to injury, but with Josh Jacobs picking up his play late in the season, he was not needed as much.
In fact, Barber played in zero offensive snaps in the regular-season finale against Los Angeles, and then in the Wild Card round, though he did make his presence felt against the Cincinnati Bengals. Barber’s bonehead play on a kickoff that was going out of bounds may have been a turning point in the game, and is likely the final memory Raider Nation will have of him.
Barber is a solid veteran to have on the roster, but with Jacobs flourishing towards the end of the season, and Drake coming back healthy in 2022, they likely will move on from him. Las Vegas could end up bringing in a young running back late in the 2022 NFL Draft, and after showing some promise last season, Barber should find a new home next season.
