Per source, if the Las Vegas Raiders want to bring in Jim Harbaugh as their next head coach, all they have to do is offer him the job.

The situation between the Las Vegas Raiders and Jim Harbaugh appears to be developing on an hourly basis. But to be fair, very little of it is official. By far, the hottest story in football right now is whether Harbaugh will actually leave Michigan for Sin City.

It’s on everyone’s mind. However, there have been some interesting developments with regards to the rumor mill.

Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reported yesterday that multiple sources within the Michigan football program notified the publication. They went on to tell Feldman that if “Harbaugh was offered the Raiders head coaching job, he’d take it.” However, at the same time, they noted that the head coach is a tough nut to crack.

It’s possible that all of this is just smoke and mirrors, a ploy to get a bigger deal done in Ann Arbor. Be that as it may, these sources claimed that Harbaugh would indeed like a return to the NFL.

Harbaugh is the betting favorite, for now.

According to PFF Bet, Harbaugh is the odds-on favorite to land the Raiders’ job. It should be noted that interim coach Rich Bisaccia also received an interview this week, and he has the support of many key players in the locker room.

Social media is ablaze with speculation as Raider Nation anxiously awaits the looming decision.

As John U. Bacon pointed out yesterday via Twitter, no one other than Harbaugh really knows what’s going on. For those of you wondering who this Bacon person is, he’s a New York Times best-selling writer and radio commentator.

More importantly, he was the man who, back in 2014, predicted that Harbaugh would be leaving the San Francisco 49ers to become the head coach at Michigan. He’s well-connected with Michigan and its insiders, and he literally called the time he’d be arriving.

As far as the current situation goes, Bacon states that Harbaugh is currently working a bad deal at Michigan. A contract where his salary was cut in half. While he makes no mention of the Raiders, he does believe he won’t be coaching under that deal moving forward. Make of it what you will, Raider Nation.
