Right Tackle
Last year, the Raiders held the No. 17 overall pick in the draft, and they used that pick to try and shore up the right tackle position. Despite plenty of first-round talent still available, the Silver and Black took a chance in drafting Alex Leatherwood in that spot, a player many had felt would be available in the second round.
The pick of Leatherwood turned out to be a big miss, as he was so bad at right tackle that they had to move him inside to guard. He played better down the stretch and is going to be staying on the inside, which means it is back to the drawing board for the Raiders in terms of finding someone to play opposite Kolton Miller.
The 2022 draft class has plenty of elite talent at the tackle spot, including players like Kenyon Green and Trevor Penning, who should still be available that late in the first round. The Raiders’ offensive line was downright atrocious at times this past season, but a Day 1 starter at right tackle in this draft could change their fortunes immediately.
