Las Vegas Raiders: 2019 NFL Draft brought cornerstone players on Day 3
Maxx Crosby in the fourth round
Even though the Raiders drafted what was supposed to be their cornerstone defensive end at pick No. 4 overall, the Silver and Black went back to the well at the position on Day 3. Looking back, that was a move that changed the fortunes of this franchise on the edge, as Eastern Michigan star Maxx Crosby has grown into one of the best edge rushers in football.
An absolute force with a motor that will not quit, Crosby racked up more pressures than any other player in the NFL this past season and has started to get recognition for how special a player he is. While Raider Nation has known what the team has in Crosby, the national media really took notice this season, and he was recently named second-team All-Pro by the Associated Press.
For Crosby, this is only half the story, as he has not only become a star on the field but off of it as well, making him a cornerstone player for this team moving forward. Crosby has been through a well-documented battle with his sobriety, becoming a real role model, and Las Vegas needs to do whatever they can to sign him to a long-term deal.
