Las Vegas Raiders who did not take advantage of opportunities in 2021

Cory Littleton

When the Raiders got Cory Littleton to sign on the dotted line after being so productive with the Rams, he was seen as an answer to one of their weaker position groups. However, since putting on the Silver and Black, Littleton has not been worth the huge contract he was given and played his way out of the starting lineup this past season.

First, Littleton was seen as someone who did not fit Paul Guenther’s scheme, so when Gus Bradley took over as defensive coordinator, the Raiders were expecting to see the player he was in Los Angeles. Instead, he was passed on the depth chart by rookie Divine Deablo last season and was just a special teams player down the stretch.

His contract is a big one with a lot of dead money if the Raiders cut him, so you can expect him back with the team in 2022. However, his days as a starter are likely gone after so many opportunities.

These four are likely to be back with the team in 2022, as Littleton’s contract will keep him in the Silver and Black, and the other three are recent draft picks. However, they all will be free in either 2023 or 2024, so their time to prove they should be with the team for the long term is running out.
