Where does Raiders Derek Carr land in our complete AFC QB rankings?

13. . . . Justin Herbert. 2. player

To put it plainly, Justin Herbert is ridiculous. Much like the player before and after him on this list, he is capable of making every throw on the field. This is good because the Chargers ask him to do just that. In just his second season, Herbert threw for 5,014 yards and 38 touchdowns.

Just absurd numbers for a player who will be 24 at the start of next season.

While the Chargers would eventually miss out on the playoffs, it was not due to Herbert’s play. Quite the opposite in fact as he put forth a heroic effort of his own with a 383 yard, three-touchdown performance against the Raiders to try and will his team into the playoffs. He would fall short, but he was the best player on the field that night.

In 2022, the sky is the limit for Justin Herbert. The Chargers have a boatload of cap space to improve the team around their young star as well. A perennial MVP candidate going forward, 2022 could be the year Herbert collects his first piece of hardware.
