Raiders: Trade scenarios involving pick No. 22 overall
Packers might need to plan for the post-Aaron Rodgers era
The Denver Broncos recently hired Nathaniel Hackett as their new head coach. Why does this matter? Well, because current Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers famously stated that he had hoped Hackett wouldn’t leave unless he did as well. It’s not farfetched to think that the organization might move up to draft a quarterback, possibly Sam Howell.
The Packers do have Jordan Love in the building right now, but has he convinced Matt LaFleur he’s the heir apparent? He’ll definitely get his chance if Rodgers moves on. However, another reason why the Packers could move up is if they lose Davante Adams in the offseason before the draft. At number 22, Jameson Williams or Chris Olave could be available.
The Raiders could come out on top in a deal with the Packers, mostly because they could draft Darian Kinnard, the offensive lineman from Kentucky. In addition, the Silver and Black would walk away with a fourth selection to add to their cupboard for next year.
