Raiders: Potential assistant coaches to join Josh McDaniels in Vegas

Now that the Las Vegas Raiders have hired Josh McDaniels as their head coach, here are some assistant candidates if it happens.
On Sunday, the Las Vegas Raiders not only got their new general manager, but also their new head coach, as they agreed to terms with David Ziegler and Josh McDaniels. With their head coach now in place, it is time to start thinking about those coaches that will join McDaniels on the sidelines.
As with many new coaches, the team’s current coaching staff will be purged in favor of the new regime’s selections. While Rich Bisaccia, Gus Bradley, and Ron Milus have earned respect and appreciation from many within Raider Nation, their fate more than likely sealed with the hire of McDaniels.
With that being said, there are plenty of solid connections for the new potential coaches’ staff, and it starts on offense.
Josh McDaniels will more than likely call the plays, but the new OC will be essential
In his 12 years as the Patriots offensive coordinator, Josh has more than earned the right to dial-up plays as he has led Bill Belichick’s offense to eight top-10 finishes. Safe to say, he will have a Jon Gruden-like control of the offense but will potentially not be as reliant on his avenue of accomplishing things.
Here are just a few names to consider for the Raiders’ new OC role.
Adam Gase – currently not coaching
Former New York Jets head coach Adam Gase is a familiar face for Josh McDaniels. The two go back to 2010 when Gase served as McDaniels’ wide receiver coach for the Denver Broncos. For two years, they worked together; however, Adam could be looking for an opportunity to jump back into the NFL arena after being out of the league for two years since his departure from the Jets organization.
While not an outstanding head coach, Gase managed to engineer a top-ranked Denver Broncos offense in both passing yards and touchdowns while being their OC in 2013. Moreover, that Broncos team ended up winning the Super Bowl that season. Therefore, the next candidate is a current offensive coach in the league.
