Raiders begin building for the future in latest 7-Round Mock
With their third-round choice, the Raiders go with…
One crucial need that seems to have been overlooked is the Raiders’ defensive line, particularly the interior. We still don’t know if Gus Bradley’s philosophy will continue or if a new defensive coordinator will take the reins. Luckily, Las Vegas can draft Logal Hall out of Houston and possibly plug him into any defensive scheme.
A versatile player that would fit either a 3-4 or 4-3, the six-foot-six, 260-pound lineman would be a nice addition to the Raiders. He was third in the American Conference in terms of sacks with six and tackles for a loss with 14 last year. 2021 was certainly Hall’s breakout season, as he tacked on 24 solo tackles while posting an 84.9 pass-rushing grade per PFF.
While Hall will initially lack the mass to be a nose tackle or run stuffer in a 4-3 defense, his ability to play all over the line is remarkable. His burst off the line, combined with his heavy hands, leaves blockers in their wake. Hall would be a pick with plenty of potential and could be molded into whatever the Raiders want him to be in their scheme.
