Las Vegas Raiders: Early to-do list for GM David Ziegler

The Raiders have their new general manager in David Ziegler, and here are three things he must do early in his tenure at the helm of the franchise.

The Las Vegas Raiders have hired Patriots’ director of player personnel Dave Ziegler as their new general manager, and a new era of Raiders management has officially begun. The hiring comes in tandem with the reported hiring of new head coach Josh McDaniels who has worked with Ziegler in New England and Denver and were even college teammates at John Carrol University.

It will be up to Ziegler to use his personnel expertise to retool what is still a roster with plenty of holes. Last season, the Raiders were able to overcome a bunch of issues both on and off the field to finally make it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2016, so it is not like he is taking over a losing roster.

In fact, one could argue that the Raiders have the framework to be a playoff contender for years to come, and it will be up to Ziegler to put the final pieces of the puzzle together. He proved during his time in New England that he can put a winner together, and now he will be tasked with establishing long-term success in Las Vegas.

With that being said, here are three areas that should be on the top of Ziegler’s list of things to do.
