Could McDaniels snag the Patriots’ rising star?

Finally, the biggest star that McDaniels and Ziegler could poach from New England is Jakobi Meyers. The Raiders will need the services of a wide receiver for next season. They could draft one in April, but another option is to pay top dollar for a proven option. Why not Jakobi Myers?

Well, Myers, unlike other free-agent options that will be unrestricted free agents, could be retained by the Patriots. In all likelihood, the Patriots will pay whatever it takes to keep their de facto number one receiver from last season. While Myers has said it himself, he wants to stay a Patriot. We all know anything can happen.

We’re all familiar with the Patriots and their tendency to sometimes underpay or not pay at all. It would be unwise for them to let Myers walk, but his restricted free agent status certainly gives them the option. Could the Raiders swing a trade for him? Sure, that’s a possibility.

Whether the Raiders trade for Myers, go for a mega-deal in trying to acquire Davante Adams or try to sign one of the prized free agents this offseason, receiver help won’t come cheap.
