Chris Godwin
Godwin will probably be the most expensive option on this list, as he has had over 1,000 yards in two of the past three seasons. Likely, Godwin would be seeking a long-term contract worth about $19 million per year. That may be a bit expensive for some, but over the past three seasons, Godwin has proven that he is a consistent and valuable offensive weapon.
There are two foreseeable worries with Godwin, though. For starters, Godwin is coming off of an ACL tear that he suffered in week 15. He should have a full recovery, but there is no telling whether or not he will come back as the same player or reinjure that ACL as his career progresses. Another concern is that he is on a team littered with offensive weapons.
If he goes to a team that doesn’t include the likes of Mike Evans, Antonio Brown, and Rob Gronkowski, will he be able to produce at the same level? Those are two issues that Ziegler and McDaniels will have to analyze if they seriously consider bringing in Godwin.
If Godwin is added to the roster and has the same productivity that he had in Tampa Bay, then he’ll be an extremely dynamic player for the Las Vegas offense. Josh McDaniels would likely have a lot of plays drawn up that have Godwin, Renfrow, and Waller all on the field at once. If that’s the case and you are an opposing defense, how can you guard that?
