3 best fits for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 free agency

No. 1: Davante Adams, WR

One of the top available free agents in years in Adams is a must-have talent. The receiver has been one of the most productive and dominant forces in the NFL for years now.

With a franchise in current flux in the Green Bay Packers, it seems highly improbable the team will fork over the cash to resign the All-Pro wide receiver.

If the Raiders need any position, the biggest case could be made for a wide receiver. After the loss of Henry Ruggs last season, the Raiders were able to get some much-needed help in the form of slot receiver Hunter Renfrow. However, Renfrow was expected to do way too much for an offense that was one of the top in the league, despite its many shortcomings.

The Raiders would benefit from having Renfrow focus on running slant routes and not having to be the main target in an offense that became predictable for large chunks of the second half.

Enter Davante Adams, a do-it-all receiver who is one of the best route runners in all of football, with also some of the most dependable set of mitts. The talented receiver is the “best he has ever played with”, stated quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has played with his fair share of special receivers.

What is also appealing is that Raider quarterback Derek Carr was the quarterback for the Fresno St Bulldogs in college, which was at the time when his star receiver was… you guessed it, Adams himself. The pair are very close, and Carr has already stated previously he would be recruiting his former college target. If this truly comes to fruition, the Raiders offense will become much more dangerous, and this team can turn the corner from being a wildcard threat into a real championship contender.

Yes, Davante Adams is that much of a gamer changer.
