Do the Raiders need a splashy acquisition?

Renfrow was the only Raider to go over 1,000 yards receiving in 2021, and Waller came in second with 665. Ruggs would probably’ve ended up breaking the same mark as Renfrow, but that’s neither here nor there as his NFL career is over. After Renfrow and Waller, there’s a steep fall in production. Zay Jones and Bryan Edwards both accumulated more than 500 receiving yards each, but they totaled only four touchdowns between them.

Meanwhile, Williams had nine touchdowns on his own. Essentially, the level of scoring that Williams would bring would instantly take the Raiders to another level. His 415 yards after the catch and 51 first down conversions make him a difference-maker, and while Renfrow is known for his clutch third-down conversions, the Raiders would become an efficient machine with two on opposite ends.

This would be especially true in the endzone. The mere presence of Williams, Renfrow, and Waller would keep defenses honest, giving Carr plenty of reliable options in the process.
