Raiders: 5 draft targets to watch after the 2022 Senior Bowl

Zion Johnson: Guard, Boston College

A few players elevate their draft stock to a whole new level every Senior Bowl, and Boston College’s Zion Johnson was one of those guys. Johnson already came in as one of the better interior offensive linemen in the draft, but now he potentially made himself the clear number on guard in the class.

Todd McShay of ESPN gave him a glowing review in his Senior Bowl recap article:

"Johnson was not only the best interior lineman this week. In my eyes, he was the best player. I watched some elite pass-rush prospects bull-rush linemen and drive them back. Then they would try the same moves on Johnson, and it wasn’t working. His tape is outstanding, and he was terrific in Mobile.”"

As a team that needs upgrades along the offensive line, the Raiders might want to take a hard look at Johnson in the first round. A proper tackle would be ideal this early in the draft, but if Johnson is the best lineman on the board, there should be a serious conversation. Johnson also provides versatility as he played some center during practice as well.
