Is J.C. Jackson worth a $100 million contract to the Raiders?
Should the Las Vegas Raiders really cough up a nine-figure deal to snag New England Patriots cornerback J.C. Jackson?
The natural response from Raiders fans after learning of the new head coach and general manager’s hire was to speculate on current Patriots players who could come over to the “dark side.” It makes sense since that tends to happen when a new regime takes over a team. With that being said, J.C. Jackson is a player familiar with both Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler, so it’s a possibility, right?
Jackson is arguably the most important defensive player on Bill Belichick’s defense but as we’ve time and time again, the organization rarely drops serious coin for star players. There are exceptions but on a young team coming off a playoff appearance, there are still holes that need to be addressed.
Would Belichick actually break the Patriots’ bank for a cornerback? History tells us no.
