No. 4: Jessie Bates, Safety, Cincinnati

The safety position is one to keep an eye on this offseason, as while Tre’Von Moehrig and Johnathan Abram are both under contract for next season, the new regime may not be sold on both of them. While Moehrig is a shoo-in to be a part of the long-term solution in Vegas, Abram has yet to prove he can not only stay healthy but play consistent football when he is.

Looking at these two rosters, there are some talented players in the secondary, and one that comes to mind is safety Jessie Bates. This is a player that I believe can come in and not only fight for a starting job, but win one, and at only 24-years old, he certainly has a lot of football left in him at the NFL level.

Back in 2020, Bates was second-team All-Pro, so you know the Bengals are going to make a hard push to try and lock him up to a long-term deal. However, this is also a player that I believe the Raiders should have their targets on, as he would be an upgrade over Abram, and give the Silver and Black a dominant duo at the safety position.
