5 pending free agents in Super Bowl LVI Raiders should target in 2022

No. 3: Austin Corbett, OG, Los Angeles Rams

Going into last season, it was expected that Denzelle Good and Richie Incognito would be the starting offensive guards, but it ended up being nothing of the sort. Instead, first-round draft pick Alex Leatherwood was kicked inside from his right tackle spot, and John Simpson had to step in and start due to the injury to Good.

Simpson played well, and Leatherwood will likely get every chance to earn the starting job on the inside once again, but can the Raiders really go into next season with that combination? The key for Josh McDaniels and his offense will be to keep Derek Carr on his feet, and Austin Corbett at one of the starting guard positions could help them do that.

Corbett would be an upgrade over either Simpson or Leatherwood, and after being traded from the Cleveland Browns, he has played with a chip on his shoulder in Los Angeles. McDaniels and David Ziegler are going to want to win now, and if a player who can upgrade a position is available, you have to believe they will leave no rock unturned this offseason.
