Las Vegas Raiders: Top-4 position groups to target early in the 2022 NFL Draft

No. 4: Cornerback

Last season, the Raiders pulled off a solid move in free agency, bringing in Casey Hayward, who was a Pro Bowl player with the Chargers under Gus Bradley. They also struck gold in the 2021 NFL Draft, as Nate Hobbs was a Day 3 selection that came in and locked down the slot cornerback job, becoming one of the best rookies in football.

However, it was not all good when it came to the position group, as Damon Arnette was released after brandishing a gun and threatening people on social media, and Trayvon Mullen was bit by the injury bug. All told, the Raiders got up and down play from their secondary, and with Hayward becoming a free agent, this is once again a position group they need to target in free agency, and the draft.

Cornerback has long been an issue for the Raiders, and with Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes in their division, getting this right has to be a priority for Ziegler. I am not saying go with a corner in Round 1, as there are more pressing needs, but waiting until the fourth round could prove problematic for the Raiders moving forward.
