Raiders RT job a big priority in 2022 offseason

Whether they attack the right tackle spot early in the NFL Draft, or they decide to go the free agency route, this may be the No. 1 priority this offseason. Word is that the Raiders are willing to commit to Derek Carr in the long term and to get the most out of him, they have to fix this major issue along the offensive line.

New general manager David Ziegler has to make sure he does not fail in the first round like his predecessor did, as Mike Mayock squandered elite draft capital, holding five first-round picks in the 2019 and 2020 drafts combined. Already loaded with a playoff roster, Las Vegas has issues to take care of still this offseason, and nobody in the fan base would shake their head at them addressing right tackle right away.

Overall, they could certainly take a swing at the position group in free agency and possibly land a potential starter at the position on Day 2. However, they cannot go into 2022 with a question mark at the position group, and outside of a few 2022 draft prospects, the pool is a bit thin as to guys who can come in and start right away.
