Analyzing the Raiders Wide Receiver situation entering the 2022 offseason

Potential Additions

Many Raiders fans are clamoring for a Carr-Davante Adams reunion, but that is highly unlikely. Adams is going to command $30 million a year and even if the Raiders were willing to pay that much for the best receiver in the NFL, the Packers will likely franchise him for the chance to trade him and it’s unlikely he will leave Aaron Rodgers.

More notable options are Michael Gallup, even coming off of a torn ACL, DJ Chark, or Christian Kirk. Top receivers Chris Godwin and Mike Williams are likely too expensive or don’t fill the deep-threat role the team is craving. Allen Robinson didn’t look like himself last season while Odell Beckham Jr. tore his ACL in the Super Bowl and likely won’t contribute next season.

The names to keep an eye on are Jakobi Meyers and Juju Smith-Schuster. Meyers has the Patriots connection while Smith-Schuster is likely looking for an opportunity to be the number one option. The Raiders could also take flyers on Will Fuller or Sammy Watkins with hopes of a return to form.

With the 2022 NFL season concluded, it is now officially Draft season for the Raiders. Of course, the quarterbacks will be front and center.

The Raiders seem likely to draft a receiver early in the 2022 draft. Chris Olave is the likeliest option because of his projected range and skill set whereas USC’s Drake London and Alabama’s Jameson Williams represent high-end options as does Olave’s teammate Garret Wilson.

Olave is likely the top choice for the team but Treylon Burks is also intriguing. Justyn Ross could also be a day 2 option but his production dipped after his freshman season.
