Who is Back?

The Raiders return both Waller and Moreau for next season and it seems likely that McDaniels will structure the offense around his top tight ends in 2022. McDaniels has had tremendous success with two tight end systems before and has always valued them in his offense.

Luckily, the Raiders supply two good ones who both can shine in this offense. McDaniels will likely run much more play-action in 2022 and Waller will return as the top playmaker with Moreau flanking him.

The Raiders have been the best team in the NFL since 2019 when employing 12 or 13 personnel and McDaniels will lean on his two rocks. Moreau will likely see his role increase. Moreau has often been referred to as “Baby Gronk” and McDaniels has been the coach to unlock Rob Gronkowski in the past so it seems like he has some plays already in hand for Moreau.

Waller will probably continue to see the ball in all different forms but he could line up outside more and take more handoffs. Waller is the most athletically gifted tight end in the NFL and McDaniels is sure to be excited to use him.
