Raiders: Grading the offensive position groups entering the 2022 offseason

Running Backs

The Las Vegas Raiders have two solid running backs returning to the fold this upcoming season, as both Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake are under contract. Barring Drake being cut to save some cap room, this is the group that will lead the way at the position group, and McDaniels is used to utilizing multiple running backs within his offense.

The No. 3 back for this franchise last season was Jalen Richard, an outstanding pass-catching back who is also not afraid to block. He would have a role in McDaniels’s system as well, but he may want to test the free agency waters, as he has been with the Raiders his entire career.

Peyton Barber got his fair share of carries last season and is entering free agency as well, while Trey Ragas is coming back on a futures deal. This is a position group that is set at the top, but one where the Raiders will either have to bring back Richard or find a solid veteran to come in via free agency.
