Raiders: Grading the offensive position groups entering the 2022 offseason

Wide Receivers

The wide receiver room is all out of whack as we enter the offseason, as Hunter Renfrow is the only legitimate playmaker returning in the position group with the jury still out on Bryan Edwards. Last season, Derek Carr relied on both Zay Jones and DeSean Jackson down the stretch, but both men enter the offseason as free agents, and both should have interest from other teams.

Jones is the one to keep an eye on here, as he has a tremendous relationship with Derek Carr, and may want to return to the Raiders, even in a No. 3 role. A lot of the talk surrounding this team is that the Raiders will attack the wide receiver spot early in the 2022 NFL Draft, so it is likely they go into Day 3 already with a wideout drafted.

Renfrow proved in 2021 that he can shoulder the load, and he is going to be a major part of the offense next season, especially with McDaniels at the helm. Free agency and the draft will likely be needed for the Raiders to bring in the kind of depth they so desperately need right now.
