2022 3-round NFL Mock Draft: Raiders look to Georgia for help
On the other side of the line, the Raiders desperately need reinforcements for an offensive line that suffered setbacks due to injuries as well as wear and tear. Jamaree Salyer, a teammate of Walker’s, would help right away.
Along the line of Walker’s versatility, Salyer also fits that mold on the opposite side. An NFL player that can play multiple spots (especially in the trenches) is invaluable. We saw the Raiders’ offensive line deflate following Richie Incognito and Denzelle Good’s injuries. Salyer could come in and be your swing offensive lineman from the outset.
While he projects to be a better fit at guard, the Raiders would have an athletic lineman that possesses imposing size, a massive frame, and well-balanced stature. In other words, he’s big but also nimble.
His biggest contribution upon arrival will be in the run game, which the Raiders struggled to establish for most of last year. His ability to quickly come off the ball and open lanes with his power is noteworthy. On top of opening gaps after initial contact, Salyer has the ability to get to the second level, which would greatly boost the Raiders’ run game. Salyer would be a perfect fit in McDaniels’ power run scheme.
