Las Vegas Raiders: 3 Interior OL free agents to target in 2022

Raiders free agent target: Laken Tomlinson, OG

While Brandon Scherff is considered the top guard available, he’ll be commanding north of $30 million guaranteed, which might be unfeasible for the Raiders. The Silver and Black are fortunate in that they can sign Laken Tomlinson from the San Francisco 49ers.

Tomlinson has started every game since Week 1 of 2017, becoming a stalwart and earning grades higher than 75 per Pro Football Focus. Having played 496 snaps last season in run blocking while earning the aforementioned grade, Tomlinson is exactly what the Raiders’ run game needs.

The 2021 Pro Bowler was an integral part of the 49ers’ run game, which carried the team to a near Super Bowl appearance. Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels will be looking to establish the run game, as that was the key to his success for many years in New England. Upgrading to someone of Tomlinson’s caliber will help get McDaniels’ tenure off to a good start.

At 30, Tomlinson would provide a solution for at least the next two to three years. He’d certainly help create holes for whoever is in the Raiders’ backfield in 2022.
