Analyzing the Raiders Interior OL entering the 2022 offseason
The Las Vegas Raiders have work to do along the offensive line this offseason, including in the interior at offensive guard.
After discussing the Raiders’ options at tackle entering the 2022 season, those questions will directly tie into their plans for the interior offensive line. If the Raiders do choose to have Alex Leatherwood return as a guard next season, this group could be already set.
Leatherwood was drafted to be the team’s right tackle of the future, teaming with Kolton Miller to give the franchise bookends at the position for years to come. Unfortunately, he struggled with protection, and with discipline, getting kicked inside to the left guard spot midway through the season.
With Richie Incognito hurt for the entire year, and Denzelle Good going down as well, the Raiders were young at guard with John Simpson and Leatherwood starting. They also had a first-year starter in Andre James at center, and he certainly had his growing pains early on.
There are still several questions and with many of these guys being favored by the old regime, there could be big changes.
