Raiders 2022 7-round NFL Mock Draft: Las Vegas fixes OT problem early

28. . Offensive Tackle. Las Vegas Raiders. Trevor Penning. 22. player

There are several different ways the Raiders could go with their first-round pick, but getting better up front along the offensive line has to be a priority. The Silver and Black have selected a first-round offensive tackle in two of their last four drafts, but with Kolton Miller has been outstanding, their 2021 first-rounder, Alex Leatherwood, does not seem to be an answer at the position group.

Leatherwood was drafted in the first round last year to come in and start on the right side right away but played so poorly that he had to be kicked inside to offensive guard. Brandon Parker replaced him at right tackle the rest of the way, but with him hitting free agency, you can expect the Raiders to get a new player for this very important position.

That new player could be Trevor Penning from Northern Iowa, an offensive tackle who really stood out during the Senior Bowl week. He has the attitude to come in and start right away and has a true nasty streak, which will make him a fan favorite within Raider Nation as a rookie.
