Raiders 2022 7-round NFL Mock Draft: Las Vegas fixes OT problem early
By Brad Weiss
The third round of the 2022 NFL Draft should still feature plenty of players who can help the Raiders in a big way next season, especially in the secondary. While Trayvon Mullen is a solid cornerback, we still do not know if he is going to be a long-term CB1, and it remains to be seen whether or not Casey Hayward will return as a free agent.
If the Raiders go into the draft without addressing the cornerback spot, that would be a mistake, as the AFC West boasts two of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL. They have to revamp this secondary somehow this offseason, and the hope is they can bring back Hayward, or sign a talent like J.C. Jackson from New England in free agency.
With this pick, the Raiders add a talented depth piece to the cornerback room in Derion Kendrick, a player who could certainly be a starter for the team down the line. With Nate Hobbs locked in as the slot cornerback, the Raiders have a few starting spots set, and Kendrick would be an excellent player to groom behind a Jackson or Hayward in Year 1.
