A New Coach at the Helm

Some had doubts about the Josh McDaniels hire. But after listening to his press conferences and looking at what he brings to the table, it’s safe to assume Mark Davis made a good hire.

McDaniels excels at creating an extensive offensive playbook, as he was the offensive coordinator in New England for over a decade. In that time, he helped lead Tom Brady and Bill Bellicheck to multiple Super Bowl victories. His most impressive work came in the way he utilized the tight ends and slot receiver, while also establishing an efficient running game.

With Darren Waller, Foster Moreau, Josh Jacobs, and Hunter Renfrow, McDaniels should be able to replicate the same kind of success.

McDaniels will also play a huge role in improving the team’s red zone offense. Last season, the Patriots finished 7th in the league in red zone touchdown scoring, earning a touchdown in 63% of their attempts.

It’s important to remember that they did that with a rookie quarterback who had fewer weapons than Carr does. So, if McDaniels can get Las Vegas’ red zone touchdown efficiency to the level it was in New England then this team should have much more success in 2022.
