One of the most pressing needs for the Raiders, other than their O-line, is the wide receiver corps. Everyone knows Hunter Renfrow isn’t going anywhere, and while Zay Jones could continue as a Raider due to Carr’s trust in him, though making some clutch catches will help too, the team goes with David Bell with the 53rd selection.
Bell isn’t the fastest prospect this year, but what he does possess is the ability to take the top off opposing defenses. He has more than enough burst off the line of scrimmage and sufficient ability to change trajectory mid-route that he’d be exactly what the Raiders need. Accumulating 21 touchdowns in 29 career games, Bell showed he could find the endzone at Purdue.
I keep hearing that David Bell can’t separate. I just don’t get it.

He’s diverse in his releases, technical with his stems and clean out of his breaks. Just because he’s not a speedster doesn’t mean he can’t get open. #Bears pic.twitter.com/Z4Hs7TfQ5B
Standing at six-foot-two, Bell has enough size and strength to perform well at the next level. He’s able to manhandle cornerbacks with his brawn and will get you yards after the catch with his noticeable burst. His hands are more than reliable, and he would surely find himself of great use in McDaniels’ offense.
