With the NFL Combine just a few days away, let’s take a look at a plausible scenario that the Las Vegas Raiders might encounter on draft day.

For the first time since 2018, the duties of scouting and preparing for the NFL draft will fall to a new regime. Gone are Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock. Instead, the Raiders will be going the “Patriot Way” with new general manager Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels.

The question is what type of philosophy the new duo will embrace going into this year’s player selection meeting. More importantly, many in Raider Nation are wondering what they will do about free agency. That question is going to have a massive effect on how draft day goes, especially in the first three rounds.

When considering what’s at stake in the next couple of years, the Raiders should strongly be pursuing a free agent fix at right tackle. Derek Carr’s window to bring home a championship is closing, so to make the most of it, the Raiders’ brass needs to surround him with adequate protection and a bevy of weapons.

As I prepare for the combine, where I’ll be getting a close-up view of many of these players, let’s take a look at a scenario where the Raiders go offensive line, wide receiver, and one surprising position within the first two days.
