Dominance and Rumors

Aaron Rodgers’ career against the Raiders can be described in one word: dominant. Having faced off against the Silver and Black three times, he is 3-0. In those games 914 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions. In fact, he had one of the best games of his career against the then Oakland Raiders.

In a 2019 match-up between the two at Lambeau Field, Rodgers tore the Silver and Black apart with 429 yards passing and five touchdowns through the air. He would also add one more score on the ground in a blowout win. It doesn’t get much better than that in the NFL.

Following that season, the Packers would select quarterback Jordan Love in the first round. Feeling disrespected, Rodgers was very vocal about his displeasure. This led to many trade rumors, some of which had him landing in Las Vegas. Citing former coach Jon Gruden and proximity to the west coast as reasons, Rodgers was/is likely to be intrigued by the opportunity. However, with the hiring of Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler, the Raiders appear committed to Derek Carr.

Although the Raiders were close to acquiring Ridgers several times throughout his career, it was never meant to be. Alas, never say never.
