Las Vegas Raiders: Which 2022 NFL Combine drills to watch per position

OL: broad jump, 10-yard split, bench press

Offensive lineman testing is certainly not the end all be all, but there are a few drills that you’d like them to be above average in. As we’ve already discussed, the broad jump is an excellent way of determining explosiveness, and a lineman can fire out of their stance is crucial. It also shows hip flexibility and a prospect’s ability to generate power within the lower half.

For tackles, in particular, the 40-yard dash has also proven to be very vital, with the main focus being on the 10-yard split. Which is another example of how a player gets out of his stance. The shuttle could also be a factor for changing direction to deal with athletic edge rushers.

Bench Press is helpful for interior linemen, where they can display their ability to punch. Overall, the offensive linemen need to show they can explode off the ball and move laterally again pass rushers.
