Raiders should move up in second round for Alabama’s Christian Harris
Christian Harris’s coverage abilities would serve the Raiders well
One of the most well-known weaknesses that the Raiders are known for is lacking reliable pass coverage at the second level. For example, they brought in Cory Littleton on a ridiculous deal that had $22 million guaranteed. In return, the Raiders got a linebacker that was burned week in and week out. As opposed to Harris, the Silver and Black would get a confident player that believes in his coverage skills.
Speaking at the NFL Combine this weekend, Harris further elaborated on his foundation as a defender. He stated that his experience as a cornerback and safety since his little league years has given him great natural instincts. Specifically, it taught Harris where to put his eyes and where to focus his eyes, which he believes gives him an advantage over other players because of this natural ability.
When watching him play, you can see this vision on display. He consistently provides good zone coverage, and it goes to his point that his eyes allow him to understand the plays developing in front of him.
